Carpet Protection

How to keep your carpet looking like new?

Vacuum regularly. Dirt and debris gets caught in carpet easily and can cause damage if left in carpet for a long term.

How can you clean your carpet deeply?

Mix 1/4 cup salt, 1/4 cup vinegar, then apply this paste to deep stains or heavily soiled sections of carpet. Allow the paste to sit on the carpet for several hours until it dries completely, then vacuum it away.

What is the best way to clean carpets?

Steam cleaning is also known as deep cleaning. That's because it is the only carpet cleaning method known to remove at least 97 percent of dirt and bacteria from carpets. It is also the only method that reaches all the way down to the lowest layer, or “pile”, of your carpet to clean it thoroughly.

Spray white vinegar onto the dried urine spot.

You can also clean the area with a mixture of water, white vinegar, and baking soda.

If the smell still lingers, hydrogen peroxide can be applied to the urine spot; however, you should test it on your carpet in a hidden area first as it can discolor carpet.

What kills mold in carpets?

Using Lysol and water in the carpet cleaning machine or bleach and water should kill the mold. Make sure you don't mix the two. Use about one cup of Lysol or bleach to the bucket of water. Spray the carpet with the solution and let it set for 15 to 20 minutes and then vacuum all the dirt and mold out.
